Why water
Small sips, good reasons.
Water keeps your body at a normal temperature, cushions your joints, protects your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, and carries waste out. Too little of it can bring unclear thinking, mood changes, overheating, constipation and kidney stones.

Is Hydrolotl free?
Yes. Tracking water is free forever, with no ads. Hydrolotl Plus is optional: rare morphs, a monthly plant and décor pack and 30-day trends, for $12.99 a year (the first 7 days free), $1.99 a month or $24.99 once.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing is lost. A missed day never resets your progress, and your axolotl is waiting right where you left it.
Does it work with Apple Health?
Yes, if you allow it. Hydrolotl can save the water and caffeine you log to Apple Health and read water from it, so your totals match. Health data is never sent to us and is never copied to iCloud by Hydrolotl.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. The watch app is a bonus: pour with the Digital Crown, log with Double Tap and catch pearls from a notification. Everything works on the iPhone alone too.
How much should I drink?
The suggested goal follows general guidance (EFSA suggests about 68 fl oz a day for women and 85 fl oz for men, from drinks and food), and you can change it. Hydrolotl is not a medical app. If your doctor has given you a fluid limit, follow it; you can set it in the app's Settings.
What data do you collect?
None. There is no account, no ads and no tracking. Your log stays on your device and in your private iCloud, and the App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
