12 times table

One table, one page: 12 × 1 to 12 × 10 big enough for the fridge, the multiples of 12 lit up on a hundred chart, and a practice page with the answers taken away.

Ages 8–10 · 2 pages

How to use it

Page one goes on the fridge, page two goes into a punched pocket with a dry-wipe pen. Read the poster together a few times first: the coloured band and the lit squares on the chart give the same ten answers twice, so a child sees the 12s as a path through the hundred as well as a list. Then hand over page two — the same ten facts in a scrambled order, with the multiples missing from the chart and from the counting row.

12 is 10 and 2: 12 × 7 is 70 plus 14, so 84. A child who owns the 10s and the 2s can build any fact here in two steps, and a dozen — eggs, months, inches — gives the row more everyday practice than most.

Printing notes

  • Print at 100%, not "fit to page" — scaling shrinks the digits and the whole point is that your child writes them at a steady size.
  • Black-and-white and draft mode are fine. Nothing on these sheets depends on colour.
  • Slide a sheet into a punched pocket and a dry-wipe pen turns one page into a hundred goes.
